JAMES H. LARKIN, II, CPA
The Managing Partner of Larkin, Ervin & Shirley LLP is a graduate of New Mexico
State University with a B.B.A. degree and has been in practice for over 30
years. His career includes an extensive background with both Peat, Marwick and
Mitchell and Arthur Young & Co. to include a three year assignment in Tehran,
Iran. He has been a frequent speaker both domestically and in the Orient, Middle
East and Europe on expatriate tax matters. He has published numerous articles on
expatriate taxation (see Publications) and at congressional request has appeared
before the Joint Committee Staff on Taxation in Washington, D.C. The present day
firm was founded in 1981. Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
KEN SHIRLEY, CPA
Ken Shirley is a 1968 Louisiana State University graduate holding both B.A.
and M.B.A. degrees and has been in practice over 30 years. He is a former
partner with Arthur Young & Company where he acquired an extensive international
business background. Amongst other responsibilities Ken has served as Arthur
Young's Director of Mergers and Acquisitions and as Director of Computer
Auditing. Since leaving Arthur Young, Ken has practiced public accounting as a
sole practitioner with an emphasis on individual taxation and small businesses. Ken is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and
the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
